Dongchuan Red Land is a unique tourism attraction in Yunnan. The scenery borrows its name from the soil being colored a bright red during the months of May, June, September and December. The scenic area extends for nearly 50 kilometers, are is one the most striking and distinctive of its kind. Dongchuan Red Land is a great destination for photographers and casual tourists alike.

Located at 180 kilometers northeast of the Kunming urban area, Dongchuan Red Land is accessible by car and by bus from Kunming City. Buses leave from North Bus Station and tickets cost 37 yuan as of 2021. Park tickets are free of charge.
