Kunming Itinerary B

Day- 01 
*Arrival at Kunming; meet at the airport and transfer to hotel
*Visit the Green Lake Park, Yunnan Provincial Museum and the Old Town (Jingxing Bird & Flower Market)
*Overnight at Kunming

Yunnan Provincial Museum
Established in 1951, Yunnan Provincial Museum is a comprehensive museum where cultural relics have been housed and exhibited. It has garnered over 156,000 pieces of cultural relics such as bronze wares, ancient coins, ceramics and ethnic religious instruments etc.

The Green Lake
As the most popular park in the downtown of Kunming, the Green Lake attracts multitudes of visitors from home and abroad each year to witness its emerald-like water, weeping willows and red-beaked seagulls traveling long from Russia to spend winter since 1985.

 

Day -02 
*After breakfast, drive to visit the Stone Forest National Geo Park
*Lunch at local restaurant
*Visit Jiuxiang Cave in the afternoon
*Overnight at Kunming or the Stone Forest (Shilin Town)

The Stone Forest
The Stone Forest Scenic Area is approximately 80 kilometers away from the downtown of Kunming. Covering 400 square km, it is a World Natural Heritage Site accepted by UNESCO in 2007. The Stone Forest is famous for its Karst landform and the ethnic culture of the Sani People-a branch of the Yi Minority. En route, you may see the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway, orchards and villages. By taking the old road, you can choose to visit The Colorful Yunnan (Qi Cai Yunnan), a large-scale shopping centre for Yunnan specialties.

Time permitted, you can drive 30 km to visit Nuohei Stony Village.

Jiuxiang Karst Caves
As one of state 4A-level scenic attractions in Kunming, Jiuxiang appears to be a comprehensive scenic area famous for its underground Karst caves, enticing natural landscapes, humanity sights and ethnic culture of the Yi Minority.

 

Day -03 
*Drive to visit the Dragon Gate and Huating Temple of the Western Hill in the morning
*Lunch at local restaurant
Take cable car from the Western Hill to Yunnan Nationalities Village
*Visit the Nationalities Village and the Nationalities Museum in the afternoon
*Overnight at Kunming

Huating Temple
Huating Temple is situated in Huating Hill. It was originally built the Dali Kingdom Period of the Song Dynasty. The temple is known for its grandiose Heavenly Guardians Hall (Tian Wang Dian) and Majestic Hall (Da Xiong Bao Dian). Especially, the three-meter-high Buddhas and 500 Buddhist Arhats in the Majestic Hall adding much to the popularity of Huating Temple which has been deemed “the No.1 Buddhist Temple in Yunnan”.   

Yunnan Nationalities Village
Yunnan Nationalities Village is situated on the east shore of Lake Dian, 8 kilometers away from the downtown. Yunnan Nationalities Village was first constructed in 1992 and has been functioning as an important window to showcase the diversified ethnic cultures in Yunnan Province.
