Yunnan Art Museum founded in 1984. It is a public institution affiliated to the Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. The whole museum covers an area of 8,636 square meters and the exhibition hall covers an area of 3,000 square meters. Mainly equipped with 8 exhibition halls, lecture halls, multi-function halls, VIP halls, foreign language bookstores and other areas. 

Yunnan Art Museum works for art creation, collation and research of folk arts of ethnic minorities, holding art exhibitions, and foreign art culture exchange, etc., in Yunnan province. It is the only one unit for artwork collection and creation in Yunnan. Yunnan Art Museum has successfully hosted more than 20 medium-sized art exhibitions nationwide in the past 32 years.

 

Yunnan Art Museum has collected more than 100 excellent works of domestic and local painters, more than 100 ancient murals of Yunnan ethnic minorities (copy painting), more than 300 silver ornaments of Yunnan ethnic minorities, and more than 100 handicrafts of ethnic minorities in Yunnan.
