Yunnan Provincial Museum

Yunnan Provincial Museum founded in 1951, it is the largest comprehensive museum in Yunnan, national first-class museum. Currently, Yunnan Provincial Museum has bronze, ancient coins, ceramics, ancient paintings and calligraphy, stamps and various handicrafts total more than 200,000 of cultural relics. It is the core institution of culture relics collection, exhibition, research and protection in Yunnan.

Kunming Museum

Kunming Museum is a landmark comprehensive museum. There are existing bronze culture exhibitions of Dian Culture, Dizang Temple (Buddhist temple) exhibition, dinosaur Fossil exhibitions, Kunming Flying Tigers memorial hall and old photos of Kunming city. 3 more showrooms in the museum for other temporary exhibition.

Kunming Natural History Museum of Zoology

Kunming Natural History Museum of Zoology has the largest and most abundant collection of animal specimens in Southwest China. Opening for public from November 2006. At present, the exhibition display more than 20,000 animal specimens, including over 90 animal species of national classes protected as well as many rare species, endangered species and medicinal species. All the specimens profile that Yunnan is an animal kingdom.

Yunnan Railway Museum

Yunnan Railway Museum was constructed based on waiting room of Kunming North Railway Station. Opened in 2004, mainly displayed the history of Kunming Railway development, particularly metre-gauge railways. In the Yunnan Railway Museum there are a well-preserved “Michelin” internal combustion trains and SN-type 29-inch steam locomotive.

The Deluxking Museum of Perfume

The Deluxking Museum of Perfume founded in 2011, it is a private museum, the first museum of perfume in China as well as the first in Asia. The museum has a collection of various perfumes around the world. The museum also organizes experience activities such as aroma products making class.

Yunzi Museum

Yunzi is a special weiqi (GO) pieces manufactured in Yunnan, China. As a traditional characteristic handicraft in Yunnan Province, yunzi started in Tang dynasty and reached its peak in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Yunzi went on to be prized by the literati and were offered to the Emperor.

Yunzi Museum located in the first floor of Yunzi Qiyuan, display the GO pieces of Ming and Qing dynasties, the development history of Yunnan GO Factory, and the chess tables and chessboards produced by Yunnan GO Factory.In Yunzi Qiyuan, visitors can also have a look of the production process of Yunzi.

Kunming Tap Water History Museum

Kunming Tap Water History Museum is located in the Green Lake Park, built in the Kunming Waterworks Pump House. The pump house was built in 1917, designed by French engineer Dyar, equipment using Siemens machinery. Waterworks started supply city for water since 2rd of May, 1918, daily supplement was 1034 cubic meters. All the equipment well preserved to now.

Yunnan Museum of Gems and Minerals

Yunnan Museum of Gems and Minerals was founded in August, 2012. There are 3 different showrooms, including mineral, gem and treasure, over 10,000 collections. Collections not only include native gemstones and crystals, but also have valuable gemstones and mineral crystals from all over the world.

Miniatures Museum of Minorities

Although the minority museum is only 10 square meters, it is fully equipped. The museum contains few photos reflect the life and work of 25 ethnic minorities in Yunnan, traditional objects include paper-cutting, ethnic minorities clothes and carving.

Guandu Folk Museum

Guandu Folk Museum located inside of the ancient town of Guandu. The museum is divided into 4 sections to shows the life of the local people, including pottery, embroidery, tie-dye and other non-heritage handicrafts. The folk paintings exhibited in the museum vividly shows the style of Guandu life.
