Summertime is when the floral jewels lotus flowers bloom and in Yunnan Province there are many places where visitors can expect to see them during June and August. 

 

Green Lake Park, Kunming (downtown)
As the most popular park in Kunming, the Green Lake only has 0.03 sq km of lotus plants. But, there are more than 10 kinds of delicate lotus flowers in the park where visitors can spend a day experiencing the local life of Kunming.

Daguan Park, Kunming (6.5 km)
At the north shore of the Dianchi Lake, the Park is one of the best places in Kunming to admire lotus flowers in summer. Boasting of 0.07 sq km of lotus plants distributing in six ponds, the Park organises the lotus flower festival in each summer.

Fubao Culture Town (15 km)
At the north shore of the Dianchi Lake, Fubao Culture Town has about 0.2 sq km of lotus plants flowering in a riot of colour in summer.

Fuxian Lake, Chengjiang County (60 km)
The south suburb of Chengjiang County at the north shore of the Lake boats of a total area of 0.67 sq km of lotus plants distributing in Jihua Lotus Pond, Zuosuo and Xiaoyao etc. In summer, lotus flowers are probably the most beautiful scenery around the lake.

Guanglu Ancient Town, Yao'an County (230 km)
The ancient town of Guanglu is 12 km north Yao'an county seat. Near the Town is a Lotus Culture Park dominated by flowering lotus in summer. The park integrates plantation of lotus, sightseeing, leisure, and entertainment. An annual lotus flower festival takes places in each summer here.

Puzhehei Resort, Qiubei County (340 km)

Cibi Lake, Eryuan County (390 km)
Special to the Cibi Lake, Cibi Flower belonging to nymphaeaceae (or water lily) is a kind of perennial herbaceous aquatic plant. This kind of rare plant blooms in July or August. Because it begins to bloom at 11 am, in full bloom at noon and close at 5 pm, it is vividly called "meridian lily".

Caohai Wetland Park, Heqing County (460 km)
4 km north Heqing county seat, the wetland has nearly 7 sq km of lotus plants surrounded by villages. Each year, a festival is held here. The wetland is 155 km from Dali or 37 km from Lijiang.
